Recently, "MP3" passed "sex" as the most searched for word ever in internet history. To take advantage of this phenomenon, record companies should offer hit singles in the best possible downloadable format for free. After all, we get to hear it endlessly on hit radio rotations anyway.

If properly designed, people wanting MP3 on the net could find you rapidly, download their current favorite song, and become interested enough (if properly encouraged through design of the site) to buy the CD - direct from you, at a great discount - because, after all, you are the RECORD COMPANY.
