This ecological tour of Maui
Hawaii consists of three parts: virtual tours, eco tours, and environmental organizations.
The virtual
tours page consists of links to photographic tours of Maui. We've included the
best Maui photographs we could find, taken by both professional and amateur photographers
from all over the world! Many of these pictures of Maui are breathtaking, but
remember: nothing compares to actually seeing it yourself!
That's why we created the eco tours page, which includes links to all the ecotourism
organizations we could find on line. Maui's ecosystem has been under attack since
the first Polynesians set foot on Maui. While threatened by everything from the Army
Corps of Engineers to people who carelessly flick their cigarette butts and gum wrappers,
the life on and around Maui does its best to survive the onslaught of man. Its
continued beauty is a testament to its resilience. The least we can do is use the
services of companies who try to lessen the impact we make while visiting Maui.
Finally, find out how you can
help the various environmental organizations that do their best to
keep Maui naturally beautiful. These organizations survive because of volunteers and
donations. Without concerned people willing to dedicate their time and money, the
fight to preserve the natural beauty of Maui would have been lost long ago.
